Barça Ready for Historic Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside based on approved permits. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a renovated tunnel for players plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht on 9 December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
